The EML2010D is a
10Gbit/sec Programmable Laser Diode Driver. The small 14 x 14 mm
footprint is suitable for embedding in most any transponder. The
programmable interface of the laser diode driver allows the user to
configure parameters via an I2C bus for current source, cross point
switching, amplitude control and general wave shaping though a Windows
based interface and standard PC Parallel Port. The laser diode driver is
capable of driving 50 ohm matched Electro-Absorption Modulators (EAMs)
with output signal levels of +3v peak to peak at a bit rate of 10Gbits
per second, it can also drive differential transmission lines or 25 ohm
matched laser diodes. The EML2010D conforms to MSA Standards. Ease of
configuration, small size and low cost make the EML2010D the most
flexible laser diode driver on the market today.
